Welcome, Federal employees!

about-usLauer Financial works with Federal employees across the United States. Although we started out in Chicago, we developed a large cluster of clients in the DC area thanks to the referrals of our clients there. It did not take long for us to be referred to current and former Federal employees. We now work with clients from coast to coast.

Since an important part of our process is working to maximize our clients' employee benefits, we quickly became familiar with FERS and CSRS. We even went so far as to earn the Chartered Federal Employee Benefits Consultant designation (ChFEBCSM). This process really broadened our knowledge and enhanced our value to our existing and future clients who currently work for or have retired from Federal civilian service.

As you probably realize, your Federal employee benefits are similar in some ways to other public and private sector benefits. And, in quite a few ways, they are very different. Whether we end up working together or not, we strongly encourage you to work with a ChFEBCSM who has made the effort to understand your unique situation. Many Federal employees have found also it beneficial to work with a fiduciary financial advisor, especially one who is a Certified Financial PlannerTM (CFP®) who has met the CFP Board’s rigorous requirements.
